The Langford Student Commons has a variety of study spaces available, including spaces appropriate for group work and individual study. JIBC students are welcome to use a variety of the study spaces available in the student commons. Meeting rooms are bookable by JIBC students, and JIBC students are welcome to use any meeting room that is unoccupied and not booked.
There is also a student lounge on the 3rd floor room 312, that can be used to prepare and eat food, as well as vending machines with a variety of drinks and snacks on the 1st floor.
The Student Commons offers a variety of items for in-library use, including:
White board markers & erasers
Phone charges
Noise-cancelling headphones
Borrowing books
JIBC students can request books from the JIBC Library be mailed to them direct at no cost.
JIBC students are also eligible for an RRU Library community borrower card. This card allows JIBC students to borrow print books and AV materials from RRU Library's main collection. Cardholders may borrow up to 7 items at a time for a 30-day loan period.
To apply for a library card, stop by the Student Commons front desk, identify yourself as a JIBC student, and show your government-issued or JIBC ID.
