Kanopy is an award-winning streaming service providing access to more than 30,000 independent and documentary films. Kanopy films can be streamed directly in your browser on a desktop device.

To watch Kanopy films on your phone or tablet, you will need to download the Kanopy app and create an account.

Installing the app

Search for "Kanopy" directly in the App store on your device, or visit Kanopy in the browser on your mobile device and follow the link to install the app.

Logging in

Once you've downloaded the app, you will need to create a Kanopy account (you cannot log in directly with your RRU username and password).

  1. Click the orange "Get started" button.

  5. After logging in, you will be prompted to create an account with Kanopy.
  6. That's it! You're ready to watch. Don't forget to visit your email to verify your account.

Linking your device

Kanopy films can be cast to your TV, either directly through the app or through Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Android TV. In the Kanopy app, click the hamburger menu () labelled "More" in the bottom right corner, then choose "Link Your Device". Follow the directions to connect.
