Peer-reviewed articles have been evaluated by researchers and experts in the academic community prior to publication. Reviewers with expertise similar to the author(s) decide if the article is of high enough quality to publish.

To determine if an article is truly peer reviewed, google the title of the journal, navigate to its website, and look for information about the peer-review process. This could be listed under either "About this Journal" or in a section outlining submission guidelines for authors.
