Many authors are choosing to make their works available free of charge and with few, if any, restrictions on reuse. The term “open access,” or “open educational resources,” are commonly used to describe this practice and the movement that promotes it.
Open educational resources are any resources available at little or no cost that can be used for teaching, learning, or research. The term can include textbooks, course readings, and other learning content.
