Hi

Secondary research refers to the research and reading you do in books, journals and reports to support claims you make in your papers or projects. Secondary research would also be used to create the literature review portion of your thesis or OMP. We have a good definition in our infoquest tutorial here: http://library.royalroads.ca/infoquest-tutorials/evaluating-your-sources/primary-and-secondary-sources. If you are interested in finding out more about primary research methods, check out our Sage Research Methods database which contains books, articles and tutorials on the entire spectrum of qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of further assistance.
